OMT Bible Translation Training Coming Soon

The "OMT Bible Translation Training" will be held in N country from May 11th!
This time, four people from YWAM Osaka are scheduled to participate.
OMT (Oral Mother Tongue) is a method in which speakers of the native language translate the Bible orally. For Japanese speakers, the Bible is translated orally using a smartphone app.
In Japan, this method is expected to be a great help in evangelizing to people who have difficulty reading and writing, such as the elderly, visually impaired, and foreign workers.
In addition to standard Japanese, it is also possible to translate into dialects from all over Japan, such as the "Kansai dialect." The Kansai dialect has a sense of familiarity, humor, and warmth, so it may be easier for people in the Kansai region to receive the Bible.
However, dialect translation requires caution. It is necessary to translate carefully and thoroughly verify the original text of the Bible so as not to lose its theological meaning and accuracy. I hope to learn this point through the training.
🙏 Therefore, we are now looking for people who can support us with the necessary funds (400,000 yen) for travel and activities in N country. We are also looking for people who can provide ongoing monthly support! 🙏
